Here's a fantasy replacement, this time for Caterham F1 team. Thanks to ML2166 for this Caterham team replacement.

Caterham F1 Team is a Malaysian-owned Formula One team based in the United Kingdom. The team competed as Caterham for the first time in the 2012 Formula One season, following the renaming of the outfit that raced as Team Lotus in 2011. This followed the acquisition of British sportscar manufacturer Caterham Cars by former team principal Tony Fernandes, forming the Caterham Group. Caterham Racing is Caterham F1's feeder team, and competes in the GP2 Series since 2011.

Changes have been made ahead of the 2013 season as Caterham seeks to progress, with Cyril Abiteboul replacing team owner Fernandes as team principal and a new look driver line-up, with Charles Pic moving over from Marussia and Giedo van der Garde stepping up from the reserve role. The team is also now settled in a new home at Leafield having moved into the former Arrows and Super Aguri base mid-way through 2012.  <<source>>

2013 Hungarian Grand Prix

A new track update of the Hungaroring Circuit.

The Hungaroring is a motor-racing circuit in Mogyoród, Hungary where the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix is held. In 1986, it became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain. Bernie Ecclestone wanted a race in the USSR, but a Hungarian friend of his recommended Budapest. They wanted a street circuit similar to the Circuit de Monaco to be built in the Népliget - Budapest's largest park - but the government decided to build a new circuit just outside the city near a major highway. Construction works started on October 1, 1985. It was built in eight months, less time than any other Formula One circuit. The first race was held on March 24, 1986 in memory of János Drapál, the first Hungarian who won motorcycle Grand Prix races. According to a survey put together by the national tourism office of Hungary, Mogyoród ranks third among Hungarian destinations visited by tourists, behind the Danube Bend area and Lake Balaton, but ahead of Budapest.

Helmet Set

Crash helmets have been compulsory in Formula One racing since 1953, but like F1 cars, their design and construction have evolved enormously since then. Nevertheless, head and neck trauma remains the greatest single injury risk to drivers.

To counter that risk a modern F1 helmet must be supremely light - around 1250 grams is the norm - and strong. The lighter the helmet, the less weight it adds to the driver’s head under the extreme G-forces experienced in accelerating/braking/cornering, hence the smaller the risk of whiplash-type injuries. And the stronger the helmet, the greater its ability to absorb impacts and resist penetration during a crash.

From 2011, helmets will feature a new Zylon strip across the top of the visor to enhance protection significantly. The strip, which is 50mm tall across the full width of the visor, overlaps the top 25mm of the visor itself and extends 25mm above the helmet shell edge. The strip adds about 70 grammes to the helmet, but doubles the impact performance of the visor.

As well as safety tests, F1 helmets also undergo wind-tunnel testing to help achieve a design that minimises the drag produced when the driver is travelling at speed.

Fantasy Williams

Here's an alternate version for the Williams.

Williams is one of the world’s leading Formula One teams. It exists purely to race in the top echelon of motor racing, where it’s been winning grands prix for more than three decades.

The Williams name has been synonymous with top-level motorsport since the 1960s. After running teams on the sport’s nursery slopes, team patron Frank Williams founded Frank Williams (Racing Cars) in 1966 and he entered F1 in 1969 with his friend Piers Courage behind the wheel.

Frank quickly earned a reputation as one of the industry’s more determined individuals and after selling his controlling interest in his original team, he established Williams Grand Prix Engineering with British engineer Patrick Head in 1977. They built their first car, the FW06, the following year and the team immediately went from strength-to-strength. Williams is now the third most successful team on the grid.

Williams has won 16 FIA Formula One World Championships (nine for constructors, in partnership with Cosworth, Honda and Renault, and seven for drivers, with Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve). The team has scored 114 victories, 297 podiums and 127 pole positions.

HRT Team Repsol

Here's a new replacement for HRT F1 team - HRT Team Repsol.

Repsol is a Spanish multinational oil and gas company based in Madrid, Spain. It is the 15th largest petroleum refining company according to the Fortune Global 500 list,  employing over 40,000 people worldwide. It is vertically integrated and operates in all areas of the oil and gas industry, including exploration and production, refining, distribution and marketing, petrochemicals, power generation and trading.

Repsol also partners with Honda Racing Corporation to compete in MotoGP under Repsol Honda Team.

DESCRIPTION

Slightly demented Repsol paint done for the HRT standard skin replacement.

Files included:

Car skins, In car driver suits, Cutscene driver suits, Helmets, Pitcrew suits, Racecrew uniforms, Brakeboard, Garage, Steering Wheel.

The De La Rosa and Karthikeyan helmets are kept, with just a small design and colour change for them both.

File  has to been zippped  into a 7.z format, due to the file size, but it can still be open with winrar, or google 7-zip for the freebie zip program.

History of Toyota Racing Team in world of Formula 1

Panasonic Toyota Racing was a Formula One team owned by Japanese car manufacturer Toyota and based in Cologne, Germany. Toyota announced their plans to participate in F1 in 1999, and after extensive testing with their initial car, dubbed the TF101, the team made their debut in 2002.The new team grew from Toyota's long-standing Toyota Motorsport GmbH organisation, which had previously competed in the World Rally Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Despite a point in their first-ever race, Panasonic Toyota Racing never won a Grand Prix, their best finish being 2nd place, which they achieved five times – in 2005, 2008 and 2009.

Toyota drew criticism for their lack of success, especially after the 2006 Formula One season, in which the team's best result was 3rd place in the Australian Grand Prix. Toyota was a well-funded team, but despite this, strong results had never been consistent.

On November 4, 2009, Toyota announced its immediate withdrawal from Formula One, ending the team's involvement in the sport after eight seasons.

Fantasy Ferrari - The Yellow Peril

German Grand Prix: Fernando Alonso says Ferrari were on the limit

Nurburgring: Fernando Alonso admitted that fourth place was the limit of his ambitions in Sunday's German Grand Prix.

Ferrari took a gamble by opting to start their cars on the Medium compound. Although Fernando Alonso finished fourth, victory or at least a podium was clearly the objective. For some reason the Spaniard could not make his first set of tyres last the required length for a two stopper, which would have been their plan. Instead they were forced to stop three times, bolting on the Soft tyre for a late race burst which fell short.

Clearly they got their maths wrong, the gamble not reaping the dividends that they no doubt expected. Adding to their disappointment was Felipe Massa’s early retirement as he spun outunder braking, with just seven laps on the board.

Fernando Alonso has seen too much drama in Formula 1 to rule out another championship bid despite rival Sebastian Vettel taking maximum points in Germany and Ferrari’s bold tyre strategy only partly working.

The Spaniard finished fourth on Sunday to stay second in the standings as Red Bull’s triple world champion won for the first time at home to extend his overall lead to 34 points.

Very much like last week at the British Grand Prix, Alonso started eighth at the Nurburgring but fought his way up the field after Ferrari made a deliberate strategic call not to fight for pole position and start the race instead on the longer-lasting medium tyres rather than the quicker softs.

A late tyre change to the softs had the Spaniard catching up but he was left with too much to do.

2013 German Grand Prix

Many of you would like to have a Nürburgring circuit inside F1 2012 game. Unfortunately this is not possible due to technical specifications in the game. As a small compensation here is a 2013 fictional sponsor update for Hockenheim.

• Added a 2013 Santander podium

Lewis Hamilton beat Sebastian Vettel to pole position for the German Grand Prix in a surprise result after the Mercedes driver had struggled in practice. Hamilton was grappling with oversteer in the final hour of practice. But as temperatures rose during qualifying Hamilton came into contention for pole position. The result was a relief for Mercedes after Nico Rosberg was knocked out during Q2 and will start eleventh.
