2013 Santander British GP

Nico Rosberg was quickest for Mercedes in a busy second practice session at Silverstone.

Silverstone dried up, after a morning washout, and in the prevailing conditions – cold and overcast.

Although a dry line appeared early on, and eventually the tarmac was dry just about everywhere, it was still tricky out there as Felipe Massa learned the hard way. Once again he did himself, and his team, no favours and invariably compromising his weekend with a crash that required some major repair work.

Rosberg’s top time was set just short of the hour mark, and toppled Sebastian Vettel from top spot at the time. Last year’s winner Mark Webber also went quicker shortly thereafter and thus the order at the top remained Rosberg, Webber and Vettel.

Telmex Mclaren Honda

From the start of the 2015 season, McLaren's Formula 1 cars will race using Honda engines and energy recovery systems, renewing an association that became one of the most successful and powerful in Formula 1 history during the 1980s and ’90s.

Honda will develop its engines at its R&D facility in Tochigi, Japan, where it has already begun development of its all-new 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 Formula 1 engine.

McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh hailed the new deal, saying: "Together Honda and McLaren have a great legacy; we formed a uniquely successful partnership that took on and beat the world.

"Together, we created some of the greatest, most iconic Formula 1 moments of all time which are still being talked about today all around the world.

S.Vettel 2013 Montreal Helmet

This is Sebastian Vettel's 2013 Montreal helmet that he wore during last weekends Canadian Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel led from start to finish to claim the Canadian Grand Prix Sunday to extend his title lead as he searches for a fourth straight Formula One world championship. The Arai GP-6 RC equipped Red Bull star pulled clear from pole position and was never seriously challenged as he finished with a winning margin of over 14 seconds from second placed Fernando Alonso. Lewis Hamilton, also a Arai GP-6 RC user, started on the front row with Vettel in his Mercedes, claimed the final podium spot, overtaken in the closing stages by the charging Alonso, who had started sixth on the grid in his Ferrari. But up front, Vettel was untouchable, claiming his first win at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal and his 29th career triumph.

Because, one of the guys went to the Gilles Villeneuve circuit this past weekend and tooked over 60 pictures of every sector of the circuit and sent it to the modder Barnes. Because of both guys great work we can  now enjoy an early preview of the Canadian Grand Prix!

A lap in a Formula One car on Gilles Villeneuve circuit

There is a slight right kink before turn 1 and you have to brake roughly 50 metres from the apex, downshifting from seventh to third gear. Turn 2 (Virage Senna) follows immediately after - one more downshift is required for the slow right-hander and a late apex can be useful for a good exit. Turns 3 and 4 are quite tricky - a good line is key - riding the kerbs and going within inches of the wall is important for a fast time. The chicane itself is a right-left taken in third gear Turn 5 is a flat-out right-hander which leads to turns 6 and 7. Again, a good line is vital and the kerbs need to be ridden well here. It is a left-right chicane taken in second gear and leads onto the backstraight. Turns 8 and 9 make up yet another chicane, and are very similar to turns 3 and 4 - a right-left taken in second gear where cars run as close to the barrier as possible to maximize exit speed. Turn 10 (L'Epingle) is a tight, first gear right-hand hairpin and taking a "V" line can be good to maximise speed down the following straight. Turns 13 and 14 are perhaps the most famous corners at the circuit - yet another chicane that requires plenty of kerb use and a line that takes you close to the wall, the corners are well known for catching out many drivers on the exit wall named the 'Wall of Champions'. To avoid this, you have to make sure you don't clout the kerbs too hard and if you feel like you are going to understeer into one, take to the escape road. The turns themselves, a right-left chicane, are taken in third gear after a heavy braking zone.  <<source>>

S.Perez Monaco 2013 Helmet

McLaren driver Sergio Pérez, who usually races with a bright yellow helmet, has has modified his primary colour to black, with red on the left-hand side of the design and green on the right. A Mexican flag is featured on the top, while the remainder of the design plays up to the supposed characteristics of Monte-Carlo: dice, playing cards and beautiful women. <<source>>

L.Hamilton Monaco 2013 Helmet

The glamorous Monaco Grand Prix is a special date for any F1 driver, and Lewis Hamilton has marked the occasion with a brand new helmet.

Hamilton has maintained his usual yellow base colour, inspired by Ayrton Senna, but has included a cartoon drawing of himself, girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger and his dog Roscoe driving in front of a Monaco backdrop.

F.Alonso Monaco 2013 Helmet

The dominant colours on the helmet are white and gold, to celebrate the Spaniard’s thirty two wins intertwined in the shape of a giant puzzle. His two world titles in 2005 and 2006 are represented by hearts and diamonds, as found on playing cards, on the back of the helmet. The top features a map representing the globe, revealing in a corner a complicated system of gearwheels, symbolising the delicate workings of a robotic mind, which operates perfectly, as must that of a driver in Formula 1. The design was first revealed by Alonso on Twitter and as in past years, this helmet is also destined to be auctioned to raise funds for road safety projects aimed at children, through the Foundation that bears his name. <<source>>

Jorge Lorenzo 2013 Helmet

Jorge Lorenzo won the Italian Grand Prix for the third year in a row on Sunday last weekend after his Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi crashed on the opening lap.

The world champion won comfortably from Honda's MotoGP leader Dani Pedrosa, whose rookie team-mate Marc Márquez crashed with two laps to go shortly after he had moved into second place at Mugello.

The crash allowed Cal Crutchlow to take third place for Tech3 Yamaha and become the first British rider to claim back-to-back podium finishes in MotoGP in 15 years. "I hate to be gifted a podium, I want to work for it," he said.

Pedrosa has 103 points in the championship, with Lorenzo second on 91. Márquez, whose crash denied him the chance to become the first rider to finish on the podium in his first five MotoGP races, has 77.

"It wasn't an easy race for us because when it's hot it never is," Lorenzo said. "I gave it everything and I managed to make the difference."

The reigning World champion’s helmet graphics are almost identical to his previous one, black with the white and red Por Fuera ‘X’ on the top and the Spartan symbol in the back, gone is the RockStar logo and star replaced with Monster Energy’s name and their trademark three green claws, now that the rival energy drink company is officially co-sponsoring the Yamaha Factory team but also the Spanish rider. <<source>>
